Calimacil, the makers of fine sculpted weapons, has released a notice on their blog and YouTube.com stating that they have discovered that approximately 100 swords were released with a substitute paint product. This substitute paint product has caused these swords to flake and the appearance to look less than perfect.
Calimacil has made a statement that they will replace every sword that was sold with this particular flaw, and that their quality control has been improved to ensure that this does not occur in the future.
Although their regular painting process has not suffered from this problem, and they have since returned to their normal painting process, they are still committed to ensuring that this kind of problem does not happen again.
If you have purchased a Calimacil sword in June or July of 2009 then you may want to check to see if the paint is flaking, and contact Calaimacil to exchange your weapon.

All the best in your future LARP endeavours,
