LARP Source

An Interactive Source for Live Action Role Playing

If you have ever taken some time to put together a full body costume then you know that it’s not the simplest task, nor is it overwhelmingly difficult. But in most cases you would hit up the fabric store, the craft store, and maybe the costume shop.

How many times would you turn to the ancient craft of wearing the skull of something dead?

I know that the Native Americans used to make tribal outfits from the skin of the animals that they had slain but frankly I thought we had gotten past all of that. You know – the evolution of society and all that.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that it’s horrible, wasteful, or that I’m opposed to taxidermy or the wearing of skulls on your head – I’m just saying that I’d rather it be clean, possibly plastic, and perhaps not once alive.

Frankly I find it a bit weird but that doesn’t make the costume any less awesome.

Is this just an extension of wearing leather armor at a ren-faire or LARP game? Does it change once you add the skeletal structure of an animal for further definition? Feel free to post a comment with your feedback, but don’t bother flaming *Zhon – he doesn’t care.

All the best in your future LARP endeavours,
